Firearms Instructor
The Instructor position at Heritage Training and Shooting Center is critical in providing a foundation that teaches basic and fundamental shooting skills, coupled with critical thinking skills that prepare the student to react to a dangerous encounter. Our curriculum offers courses in crime prevention, non-lethal alternatives, and basic to advanced firearm training. Hands-on training begins in the classroom, proceeds to the Simulation Lab and eventually progresses to the range for live fire exercises. As an instructor, you will be conducting classes in our state of the art classrooms, utilizing the Simulation Lab to improve students shooting proficiency. Heritage prides itself on client attention and offers an array of personal protection services including firearm training, firearm rentals, shooting lane rentals, livescan fingerprinting, and passport photos. Heritage is an open for business 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Instructor Duties:
- Teach Heritage Branded Classes as intended and outlined in Heritage Lesson Plans.
- Communicate in a professional and courteous manner with all customers.
- Represent Heritage by conducting themselves in a professional manner that reflects positively on the facility.
- Work cooperatively with all staff to achieve Heritage’s goals and objectives.
- Provide instruction while utilizing discipline-specific technology and appropriate, effective methods of delivery.
- Provide timely and constructive responses to students on their learning progress.
- Encourage students to think critically, and routinely evaluate and improve the learning process.
- Cultivate open discussions and encourage thoughtful self-reflective assessment.
- Follow and uphold Heritage’s policies at all times.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to stand for extended periods of time
Qualifications:
- 21 years or older
- NRA Certified Instructor (required)
- Successful teaching experience
- College Degree Preferred
- Friendly and positive daily attitude
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Must pass a criminal background check.
