Heritage Firearm Training Academy
Heritage Training and Shooting Center has created the most comprehensive defensive firearm training academy, teaching people of all experience levels the skills necessary for responsible, safe and effective use of firearms. Here, students with a desire to hone their personal protection and firearm skills can experience a defensive training program similar to qualification courses for law enforcement professionals.
The Academy is separated into four Units that cater to students of all skill levels, offering the opportunity for students to advance through each phase at their own pace. The progressive curriculum starts with basic firearm fundamentals & crime prevention and advances to live fire exercises & advanced firearm techniques.
Our curriculum offers multiple levels of instruction, or Units, where students can advance through courses at their own pace and reach their ultimate personal protection goal. We also offer supplemental education at each level through Advanced Individual Training. Students can better hone their firearm skills and techniques via one-on-one instruction in a Marksmanship Sim Lab session or reserved range time with one of our professional and qualified trainers.
Unit 1: Beginner Courses

This unit also includes our American Red Cross Adult First Aid, CPR & AED certification class.

Unit 2: Licensing Courses offers two of our most popular courses, Maryland HQL and Utah CFP, as well as their Law add-ons. Unit 2 also includes MD Wear & Carry Course Day 1 & Day 2 in addition to the MD Wear & Carry Renewal. Our W&C course is a customized version of the MD State Police Qualification Course that focuses on challenging courses of fire and is unlike any other offered in the state.
