Heritage Training and Shooting Center Targets Breast Cancer
Categories: Range Special, Announcement
Heritage Training and Shooting Center is doing its part to fight breast cancer in October. Heritage has partnered with The Hurwitz Breast Cancer Fund in Frederick, Maryland to give back to the community and support Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Heritage will hold a shooting raffle from October 1st to the 31st to benefit The Hurwitz Breast Cancer Fund and the Pink Ribbon Frederick initiative. The raffle will be for a chance to win a Breast Cancer Awareness AR-15 rifle.
Range Safety Lead, Rachel Zimmerman said: “To me, Breast Cancer Awareness month is where everyone has the chance to support those fighting breast cancer, admire survivors, and honor loved ones that have been taken from us.”
The Hurwitz Fund supports the non-profit Frederick Memorial Hospital. The goal of the fund is to provide the most innovative options for early detection and treatment in Frederick County. All money donated to the fund goes directly towards treating patients.
“Charity begins at home,” said Zimmerman “Heritage understands and embraces the interests and values of our community.” She stated that giving locally helps to build a stronger local community.
Participants will donate $5 for a target to participate in the raffle. The shooting raffle is available to anyone with a range card at Heritage Training and Shooting Center. Range cards are available for $10 with a valid form of identification. The winner will be chosen the first week of November.
Heritage Training and Shooting Center will be holding a shooting raffle quarterly to benefit a local non-profit as part of their Shooting For a Cause Initiative. Their last raffle benefited the Wounded Warrior Project.
