At Heritage, we aim to help women build confidence in their lives. We hope to provide a place where women can feel comfortable and excited to learn about firearms. Heritage Training and Shooting Center is a state-of-the-art well lit facility with kind and friendly staff who take safety very seriously.

 

Firearms and shooting sports are becoming more popular with women. The National Shooting Sports Foundation reports that there has been 60% growth in women target shooters from 2001 to 2013. We welcome you and your friends to come experience Heritage Training and Shooting Center.

 

Women’s Only Handgun Workshop

Have you ever wanted to learn to shoot but felt intimidated by guns or the guys? Heritage’s women’s only courses were created to help women 21 and up to feel calm and confident in the company of fellow females.

 

You will leave feeling better about your newly acquired knowledge and a newfound sense of self-empowerment and self-defense. The Women's Only Basic Semi-Automatic Handgun Course is designed to empower the individual to feel more confident and informed about the semi-automatic handgun. Included in the course:

  • 2 hours of instruction

  • Shooting fundamentals

  • Basic parts

  • Firearm operation

  • Video presentations

  • Hands-on experience

  • Simulation labs

 

Students will learn safe firearm handling techniques and develop their skills through the use of training firearms before moving onto the state of the art shooting range for a live firing exercise. This course is taught by women and is only accessible by women.

The Heritage Women’s Group

The Heritage Women’s Group meets monthly on the third Thursday of every month practice, learn and grow as shooters. 

Our Heritage Women’s Group is led by Rachel Zimmerman, HTSC Trainer and Firearm enthusiast, and Suzy Floyd, experienced firearm trainer. Meetings typically consist of an hour-long educational meeting and an hour of range time with the ladies. The educational portion topics are usually member chosen and have ranged from stop the bleed course to how to handle misloads in your firearm.

Members first monthly meeting is free. Membership dues are $50 annually which contributes to club operation fees.
